Pre-marital Counseling

Marriage is one of the most meaningful commitments two people can make. While wedding planning often receives the most attention, preparing for life together is just as important. Pre-marital counseling gives couples the opportunity to slow down, be intentional, and build a strong foundation for a healthy and connected marriage.

At The Heal Center Counseling, pre-marital counseling helps couples strengthen communication, explore expectations, and address important relationship topics before marriage. The goal is not perfection, but preparation.

Is Pre-Marital Counseling Right for You?

Pre-marital counseling is a great fit for couples who are engaged, considering engagement, or seriously preparing for marriage and want to invest in their relationship before the wedding day.

Get Started

If you are ready to begin pre-marital counseling, The Heal Center Counseling would be honored to walk alongside you in this season of preparation.

  • Throughout the counseling process, couples may explore:

    • communication patterns

    • conflict resolution skills

    • family of origin influences

    • roles, expectations, and responsibilities

    • finances and decision-making

    • intimacy and emotional connection

    • values, beliefs, and shared goals for the future

These conversations are designed to increase understanding, strengthen connection, and help couples move toward marriage with greater confidence and clarity.

  • I employ the SYMBIS (Saving Your Marriage Before It Starts) assessment and program as part of the pre-marital counseling process. SYMBIS is a trusted, research-based tool that helps couples identify relationship strengths, uncover growth areas, and develop a deeper understanding of one another.

The SYMBIS assessment is completed outside of session and reviewed together during counseling appointments to guide meaningful and practical discussion.

  • The SYMBIS assessment fee is $35 per couple and is separate from the cost of counseling sessions.

    Time Commitment

Couples should expect to participate in pre-marital counseling for at least 8 weeks. This timeline allows space to complete the assessment, review the results thoroughly, and work through the core topics that support a healthy marriage.
